FAQs
Where is CWC located?
Camp will take place in and around Chapel Hill and we will also take a day trip to a YMCA Camp. Students will sleep in their dorms each night. We will provide transportation to/from all camp activities.
How much does it cost?
The price for CWC this year is $299. The fee covers all meals and activities for the duration of camp and includes a CWC t-shirt!
What's the schedule like?
Registration will open at around lunchtime on Thursday, Aug. 13th at the North Carolina Study Center (203 Battle Lane). We'll have a welcome lunch for campers and parents and then camp activities will begin around 12:30pm. We'll spend the afternoon on campus and then take a brief break around 3pm to head back to the dorms to change and rest before starting the evening activities (ending around 9:30pm pm). On Friday, we'll take charter buses to a YMCA camp for the day to use their activities and facilities. We will be back in Chapel Hill Saturday for our final day of camp through lunchtime.
Do I need to bring anything?
You don't need to bring anything with you on Thursday other than comfortable shoes/clothing. You'll have a chance to run back to your dorm/housing around 3:30 or 4 pm to grab whatever you'll need for the evening. On Friday you will need to bring bathing suits as there are water activities and a pool at the YMCA camp!
Can you explain the move-in/arrival process?
ON CAMPUS HOUSING: This summer, the UNC Housing portal will open at an assigned time for each student to go in and select a move-in appointment. This year, on-campus move-in runs from August 12-16. When you go into the portal, please self-select any time on August 12th or the morning of August 13th as your move-in slot so you can be moved in before the start of CWC.
GRANVILLE TOWERS: If you are living in Granville Towers, there is a separate move-in process. In mid July, Granville will send out room assignments as well as an Early Move-in Request Form. On this form, students will be able to select designated move-in slots on August 12th or the morning of August 13th. Moving in early to Granville is usually associated with an extra fee. If this fee presents a challenge for you, please let us know.
*Our staff works with UNC Housing and Granville Towers to ensure that CWC participants can be moved in early. *

What if I have allergies, disabilities, or medical concerns?
We are happy to assist with allergy, disability, and medical concerns if notified prior to arrival. We are able to accommodate dietary restrictions by offering gluten-free and vegetarian options if given prior notice. Please contact us regarding any questions or specific requests!
Are need-based scholarships available?
Yes! We do not want finances to prevent any student from registering for camp, and we do have limited scholarships available. If you have significant financial need, please fill out a scholarship application instead of the standard registration form.
Registration is now full for CWC 2026. If you want to join the waitlist and would like to apply for a scholarship, please email connor@ncstudycenter.org
