What do I need to bring to camp?

Cabin Needs:

  • Bedding - Sleeping bag or set of sheets/blanket. Cabins have twin-sized bunk beds.
  • Pillow
  • Toiletries
  • Shower Shoes
  • Shower Towel

Clothing:

  • Comfortable clothing for four days
  • Sports Jersey (any sport)
  • Athletic Shoes
  • Sandals (flip flops, Chacos, etc.)
  • Rain coat
  • Pool/Lake Towel
  • Swimsuit
  • Light Jacket or sweatshirt (buildings are cold, y’all)

Recommended Items:

  • Water Bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • bug spray
  • Hat
  • Flashlight
  • Bible/journal/pen
  • Combination lock for locker

Optional Items:

  • Hammock
  • Fun camp items (face paint, glitter, bubbles, etc.)
  • Spike ball, frisbee, football, soccer ball, etc.
  • Playing cards/games
  • Small clip-on fan

What NOT to Bring:

  • Alcohol
  • Drugs
  • Cigarettes, vape, pens or any other smoking devices. Smoking is prohibited at Camp Seafarer.
  • Laptops, iPads, or tablets
  • Expensive items or jewelry
  • Snacks

Where do I park for lunch on August 14th?

Parking at the NC Study Center will be unavailable due to our limited capacity. Here are a few nearby options:

Morehead Planetarium Lot is open for visitor parking. 250 East Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, NC 27516

Arrival Process

For both UNC Housing and Granville Towers, you can begin moving into your dorm by 9 AM on Wednesday, August 14th. You are welcome to move in anytime between 9 AM and 12 PM. You will receive your room keys when you check-in in the lobby of your dorm. For Granville Residents, you will check in the West Tower Lobby.

Please be at the NC Study Center by noon for our Carolina Way Camp Lunch before students head to camp. The NC Study Center is located at 203 Battle Lane, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

Is it possible to move into my dorm on August 14th?

Yes! Both on-campus housing and Granville Towers will allow our campers to move in starting the morning of August 14th. We have sent student's names & PIDs to UNC Housing and Granville Towers so their staff members are prepared for your arrival.

Where is CWC located?

While based out of the North Carolina Study Center, in Chapel Hill, NC, our 2019 camp will be held at YMCA Camp Seafarer on the east coast in Arapahoe, NC. Students will ride charter buses with staff to and from the camp.

What if I have allergies, disabilities, or medical concerns?

Camp Seafarer does not serve products that contain peanuts or tree nuts. They can also assist with all other allergy, disability, and medical concerns if notified prior to arrival. Most commonly, they are able to provide gluten-free and vegetarian options if given notice. Please contact us if you have any questions or requests regarding this.

Price

Early-bird pricing is $250. On July 1st, the cost will increase to $300. This price includes everything for the four days of camp, including transportation, meals, lodging, and a t-shirt. Payment is collected at the time of registration.

Are need-based scholarships available?
